Shantanu Deshpande, one of the founders of the Bombay Shaving
Company, a leading Indian men’s grooming brand, wanted a logo
identity and thumbnail design for a podcast about entrepreneurship
called The Barbershop with Shantanu.
I decided to use a vector illustration of Shantanu’s profile as the visual
element in the thumbnail of the podcast. I also used the element of
shaving foam disguised as clouds as an homage to the Bombay
Shaving Company that he founded. The curved logo unit was inspired by the punk mohawk symbolic of rebellion which is at the crux of the entrepreneurial spirit in India.
The Barbershop visually stood out as very modern and sleek from the
rest of the Indian podcast thumbnails.
